Since the business inception in 1998, Spiderbox has been involved in serious, full-time research and development into the area of IP Telephony and converged communications.

In the first four years as an approved Research & Development Company and a Member of the Qld Smart State Initiative, the company developed the converging technologies device "Spiderbox" (pictured right).

Since then the company has integrated technology advancements, obtaining a Telecommunications Carrier License, and now runs its own Telephone Exchange and telecommunications infrastructure, the core of which is the Spiderbox fibre optic broadband network.

Early on, the decision was made to steer clear of ageing copper infrastructure. to this day, Spiderbox only uses fibre optic and point-to-pont microwave technology to build our network. This is a major point of difference which sets Spiderbox well apart from our competitors who simply cannot match our service offerings using such antiquated technology.

The head office is strategically located in the Brisbane Technology Park, a recognised growth hub of the Southern Brisbane region, and encompasses our research and development, technology centre, and highly skilled team of system engineers that personally support our tailored customer solutions.
